Engagements

Oh my goodness, where do we even begin with these two?! Alison + Connor are absolutely adorable together. They are joyful, kind-hearted, and so obviously head over heels in love. We had the best time capturing their Richmond engagement photos on what turned out to be the dreamiest winter day. Clear skies, golden sunshine, and two people who couldn’t stop smiling at each other. Yes please!

Winter days like this one feel like little miracles. It was sunny and full of that magical golden hour glow. Alison wore a gorgeous cream floral dress, and Connor’s light blue shirt perfectly complemented it. Their outfits looked like they were styled straight out of a magazine, but what made it even better was how comfortable and natural they felt just being together. It’s easy to see how in love these two are.

Their Love Story

Alison shared the sweetest story of how they met, and it’s the kind that makes your heart melt a little. They both went to Texas A&M and met during their freshman year through an organization called Impact. Alison and Connor were placed in the same camp as counselors, and their friendship grew naturally over that spring semester. After returning from summer break and completing the Impact retreat, they just knew they didn’t want to stop talking. Connor offered to help Alison move into her house (gentleman alert!) — and whether or not it was a sneaky excuse to see her more, we fully support it because… that day, he asked her out on their first date. And as Alison put it, “The rest is history.”

A Proposal Straight Out of a Movie

Seriously, Connor knocked it out of the park with this one. Alison thought they were going to dinner with his parents one Friday evening. They both dressed up and headed out, only to be told (via a perfectly planned phone call from Connor’s mom!) that the reservations had to be pushed back. So naturally, they decided to grab coffee while they waited — which is very them.

Connor took Alison to their favorite coffee spot, and then suggested walking over to the pond nearby, which just so happened to be the exact place where he had first asked her to be his girlfriend. And waiting for them was a blanket, flowers, and printed photos of them throughout their relationship.

As Alison set the coffee down, she turned back to find Connor on one knee. Cue the tears!! He told her how much he loved her and how life was better together, then asked her to marry him. Of course, she said YES!! And just when she thought the moment couldn’t get sweeter, he pointed out that two of their best friends had been hiding nearby capturing it all on camera. They finished the evening celebrating with friends and family back at her house. What a dream!

If you’re looking for inspiration for your own Richmond engagement photos, this session is proof that love and light is all you need. Alison & Connor brought all the sweetness and warmth, and we’re still not over how dreamy every single photo turned out.
