If you’re dreaming about booking Houston boudoir photos, planning your session is such an exciting part of the journey.
This experience is about more than beautiful images. It’s about confidence, empowerment, and celebrating who you are in this season of life. Whether it’s a gift for someone special or something you’re doing purely for yourself, preparing well will help you feel relaxed and confident going into your session.
Here’s your complete guide to planning your boudoir session in Houston.

When it comes to choosing lingerie for your boudoir session, the most important thing is that you feel confident and beautiful in what you wear.
From delicate lace sets and silky camisoles to playful bralettes and bodysuits, different styles can all create stunning looks that showcase your unique personality. You don’t have to wear lingerie at all if that’s not your vibe. Some clients love:
The key is choosing outfits that make you feel empowered.
I often recommend choosing lingerie in light, soft colors. Shades like:
These tones catch natural light beautifully and create a soft, romantic look. They also complement a wide range of skin tones and feel timeless in photos.
However, black lingerie is timeless for a reason. It’s effortlessly confident and always makes a statement. Whether you choose a bold and classic black or soft and dreamy hues, what matters most is how you feel wearing it.

Preparing for your Houston boudoir photos should feel fun, not stressful. Here’s how to feel fully ready:
Take time for self care in the week leading up to your session.
Hydrate well in the week leading up to your session. Drinking plenty of water gives your skin a natural glow. Avoid alcohol and sugary drinks if possible.
And one important note: Do not spray tan.
Spray tans often photograph orange or streaky, and it’s very difficult to correct in editing.
The week before your Houston boudoir photos:
Heels? Bring them. Accessories? Yes please. Touch-up makeup? Always helpful.
More variety means we can create multiple looks in one session.

Looking and feeling your best is such an important part of your boudoir experience.
Investing in professional hair and makeup can truly elevate your session and help you feel polished and confident. If you choose to go this route, I’m happy to share some of my favorite Houston artists who know how to enhance your natural beauty while keeping everything soft and camera ready.
